Version 1.0 · macOS 11 Big Sur or later · 62 KB zip

Toasters of every size glide across a twinkling night sky, with the occasional slice of toast.

A tribute, not a copy.

Every toaster, wing and slice is drawn procedurally in code, not traced from the original. It’s a love letter to the After Dark era for modern Macs.

Procedural art

All shapes are drawn with vector paths at any resolution, sharp on every Retina display.

Flapping wings

Each toaster flaps and bobs on its own rhythm as it drifts diagonally across the screen.

Twinkling sky

A deep-navy gradient full of stars that gently pulse.

Toast!

Every so often a toaster pops out a slice that tumbles along beside it.

Sense of depth

Up to seven toasters at random sizes and speeds, with larger ones in front.

One small native bundle for Apple silicon and Intel. No settings to fiddle with.
